Wood is one of the best building materials. It has various advantages such as:<\/p>

  • Great architectural and aesthetic freedom<\/li>
  • Good thermal insulation<\/li>
  • Fire resistance<\/li>
  • Biod\u00e9gradable<\/li><\/ul>

    In addition he lives and breathes. Mainly this fact unfortunately also gives it a disadvantage in its physical properties directly related to its naturalness, which is of plant origin.<\/p>

    Wood is an anisotropic material, because being essentially made of fiber oriented in the same direction, its physical and especially mechanical characteristics are not identical in all directions.<\/p>

    Generally after felling, the wood contains a moisture content equivalent to 200%. It is therefore important to dry it so that it loses some of this moisture before using it.<\/p>

    There are two ways to dry wood: natural air drying and artificial drying. Thanks to natural drying, it is generally possible to achieve a reduction in the degree of humidity of 22 to 15%, which is sufficient for exterior carpentry work or structural construction.<\/p>

    However, this humidity level remains very high for in-house work in the building industry or for other industrial applications. This explains the poor quality of the results commonly observed (dimensional retraction, deformation, biological degradation etc ...) over time in wooden structures.<\/p>

    Artificial drying is the solution most considered and proposed by MAZANHO BOIS for all interior carpentry work, because it reduces in a reasonable time the moisture content in the wood between 8 to 15%.     Our sawn wood come from both artisanal and industrial sawing depending on the quantities to order.
